This past week, SC House and Senate leadership was busy wasting your money on projects that only THEIR constituents will benefit from. The budget I just voted ‘NO’ to again, spends five times as much on pork as it does on reducing the citizens’ tax burden!
This ‘pork’, commonly called earmarks, is the ‘currency of corruption’ in Columbia and, along with other budgetary processes, must be reformed, pared back and made subject to ‘zero-based’ budgeting - a concept already in SC state law.
In the next session, look for REAL conservatives to be pressing this issue and rein in these egregious and immoral spending practices.
